Hello Everyone
I have run into the exact same problem as discribed in this now closed thread: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=144673. Everything worked fine four days ago (Kernelupdate and some other stuff I can't remember. Monthly update using pacman -Syu). Now I am not able to play any video files from my NAS using VLC. I am able to browse content on my NAS using nemo and I can also open Pictures but I am not able to play any Video files. Does anyone have any suggestions?
The error I am receiving in VLC is the following:
File reading failed:
VLC could not open the file "/run/user/1000/gvfs/smb-share:server=192.168.1.105,share=qmultimedia/Movies/Deutsch/23/23.AVI" (No such file or directory).
Your input can't be opened:
VLC is unable to open the MRL 'file:///run/user/1000/gvfs/smb-share%3Aserver%3D192.168.1.105%2Cshare%3Dqmultimedia/Movies/Deutsch/23/23.AVI'. Check the log for details.

Thank you byte for pointing me in the right direction. Picking that movie was of course intentional
. Will follow your suggested thread.

I'm also having problems accessing video files using VLC due to the gvfs problem.
Mounting manually using Sshfs works like a charm!

Confirm this problem affects me, there are workarounds but it would be nice if GVFS was fixed...

What workarounds are you talking about?

A update (don't know which) fixed the problem. Videplayback now works fine for me. Solving the thread.
