php character set encoding

i got web application that works on fedora but not on archlinux .

the application drupal website that import xml using feeds module, and the xml is encoded in windows-1255 charset which is hebrew .
but in archlinux the import produces strings that appear as "?????" .

i opened /etc/locale.gen but didn't find windows-1255, so i tried enabling :

he_IL.UTF-8 UTF-8
he_IL ISO-8859-8

but that didn't help .

Re: php character set encoding

Hi,
I think you set it the character encoding in your php.ini and your apache httpd.conf. Changing the Arch locale.gen doesn't change it in your webapp, accessing from a browser.
