[Server] Maintenance

I'm wondering. I am running a webserver based on Arch for about 3 months now, without any problems at all..

Are there some things to periodicly check or clean on a linux server? I know my way around linux, but maintenance is something that isnt really thought of most of the times..

Like what to do with log file.. can you just throw them away after some time.. and how to do that? just rm *.log in the var/log folder ??

Thanks!

Re: [Server] Maintenance

usually i setup logrotate so that it not only rotates logfiles but also puts them in /var/log/archive. having done that i delete most logs from /var/log do a daily rsync of the archive.
