ZFS Install Procedure In Wiki

I noticed the procedure to install Arch on a ZFS root is kind of strange. It has you add your pool and datasets to your fstab while configuring the root filesystem, then has you export the pool only to import the pool under /mnt  only after that does it tell you to install and configure Arch Linux. I don't quite understand the strange order. Shouldn't you wait till it until the install is almost finished to add the pool to your fstab? And why are you exporting and then reimporting for?

I agree that seems like a strange way to do things -- there must be something we're not grokking.

Note that the page was last edited in 2013, it may well be outdated. (That's not right, I must've been looking at a different page..)

Feel free to test out alternative methods and update the page as necessary. smile

Will do. I'm not sure I understand exactly what it's doing. Can anyone explain why exactly it's doing it in the order it is?
