[SOLVED] Computer name on network

How can I set the computer name on the network. If I log in to my router, I can see names applied to windows PCs, my printer and my android phone. How do I set this?

This allows me to connect to the devices via the name, e.g. `ping [name-of-device]` instead of the IP address.

I have /etc/hostname set on the devices but it doesn't seem to affect it. It's probably in the Wiki but I'm not sure what I need to look for. Changing the "Device name" does not do what I would like.

Thanks!

edit: I found what I needed! I was using NetworkManager and had to follow the instructions here: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Ne … HCP_server
