How to make cups working with ipv6

I have a HP printer that only has an ipv6 address. (ping this ipv6 address is working) How to add this printer using cups?

This is what I tried and failed:

1. socket://2402:F000:1:1A01:5A20:B1FF:FE4F:69F9
cannot add printer
2. ipp://2402:F000:1:1A01:5A20:B1FF:FE4F:69F9
cannot add printer
3. ipp://myhostname
cannot connect to printer

Re: How to make cups working with ipv6

I have a Brother printer addressed via IPv6 as lpd://[fd1b:xxxx:yyyy::zzzz]/BINARY_P1

Please note I'm using ULA (Unique Local Addresses) space here, so the internal networking is independent of the public prefix handed out by my provider.
