KDE plasma NetworkManager Bug

If I connect to the internet through DSL connection settings in KDE plasma NetworkManager application, the websites can be pinged but cannot be opened in Firefox or Chrome. If I reconnect, it has 50% chance of successfully opening the websites. Hence, I keep of disconnecting and reconnecting, till I get a stable connection. If I connect through some other method like wireless, the websites are opening fine. In dual boot, if I connect through Windows 7, I am able to open the websites. It seems to be a MTU issue.
Should I change the MTU by following the instructions given in link https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Ne … eue_length?
If I change the MTU value, will it be only for the DSL connection or for system wide all connections?

Re: KDE plasma NetworkManager Bug

Something is wrong with the NetworkManager. If I use netctl, pppoe is working fine.
