New Suspend to Disk Issue with Kernel 4.6.x

I was wondering anyone was aware of a new flaw which seems to have arisen when suspending the system to disk with Kernel 4.6?

echo disk > /sys/power/state

The system stalls for a long time and then resumes automatically. The system isn't suspending to disk. I've already ruled out any userspace culprits. There aren't any messages reported in /var/log/syslog or /var/log/messages.

On the same system Kernel 4.4 and 4.5 both work correctly in the same situation.

The issue's prevalent in kernels 4.6, 4.6.1, 4.6.2 and 4.6.3.

Intel gpu? Check if this applies:

And even if not, maybe linux-git from aur (i think is 4.7-rc6 now) could solve it.

Seems Intel wifi related.
