After latest update Wayland is default and it causes some problems

Hello,

When I now login into Gnome, it loads wayland session by default. Why? I think it shouldn't be changed - I found two bugs:
- redshift doesn't work
- in fullscreen game, I cannot move camera in right direction by moving cursor to right edge of the screen; also in fullscreen when I hold alt button and click somewhere, it shows some gnome specific menu (lack of reaction in the game).

Anyone else having similar problems?

The GNOME devs decided to turn on Wayland by default ignoring bugs known for years... just switch back to Xorg.

I even am not able to login into Gnome with the default enabled Wayland session. Managed to solve following what is suggested in this thread, clicking the gear icon below the password field and selecting "Gnome on Xorg" at login time.

I think it was a good decision to speed up things. More people using, more bugs being discovered and more pressure to fix them.
And like you said, it's easy to go back to xorg.

You can choose GNOME Xorg session on GDM. If using auto login GDM will always use Wayland, you need to uncomment/add this line on /etc/gdm/custom.conf

WaylandEnable=false

Re: After latest update Wayland is default and it causes some problems

After changing display settings e. g. switch off second display the whole GNOME screen gets pixelated. I have to delete ~/.config/monitors.xml to revert settings and get a clear display again.

Anyone else?
