I heard about this on a podcast and would like to try it out.  Currently, their linux client is in alpha, i don't know if it's even possible.  But has anyone gotten this to work, or can someone, pleeease.

Re: SecondLife

Since this "game" isn't under GNU and is a Licenses Product(not free). I doubt it'd be legal to package it other than the way they did. Maybe with permission from the company, otherwise I don't think it would be smart for anyone to repackage this / redistribute it.

Re: SecondLife

You probably couldn't legally host a pre-built package, but it would be alright to post a PKGBUILD that built the package from the package hosted on the SecondLife website.

Re: SecondLife

You can just extract the original installer into the src folder then copy files from there! Just make sure you make a little message about the license wink

PS: Sweet this looks nice.. im registering as soon as my dad verifies and im trying to get the linux client for arch smile

UPDATE: actually i dont trust them so im not gonna register tongue

Re: SecondLife

You may not be able to host a problem, but there wouldn't be an issue making and distributing a PKGBUILD.

I've played around with second life under windows and it is pretty interesting.  I had serious issues with it being laggy, so I quit, but it could be fun.  I hear a lot of people talking about it in their podcasts.
