OpenVPN didn't auto reconnect after an Internet connection loss

I'm using OpenVPN 2.3.12. Each time I lose my connection, I have to restart the VPN manually. Is there an option I am missing?

Re: OpenVPN didn't auto reconnect after an Internet connection loss

I was looking in the man page for you and found the option "keepalive 10 60" It looks like the 10 means that it will send out that many pings and after 60 seconds it resets the connection. I am not sure if that is the problem, but might give it a shot.

I love computers, networking and Arch Linux. Sometimes I might ask a stupid question, but please have grace with me like I would with you.

I gave it a shot, and it didn't work. I think that option is used for the server side.

Try without the "ipv6" kernel module.

I have a vague suspicion that glibc 2.24 managed to break openvpn's connection reliability, when ipv6 is available.
