Hi
After logging in to Gnome, the wifi is not established itself. Then I tried the following
>> iwlist wlp0s26f7u1 scan
wlp0s26f7u1 No scan results
>> iwconfig
lo no wireless extensions.
wlp0s26f7u1 unassociated Nickname:"<WIFI@REALTEK>"
Mode:Managed Frequency=2.412 GHz Access Point: Not-Associated
Sensitivity:0/0
Retry:off RTS thr:off Fragment thr:off
Power Management:off
Link Quality:0 Signal level:0 Noise level:0
Rx invalid nwid:0 Rx invalid crypt:0 Rx invalid frag:0
Tx excessive retries:0 Invalid misc:0 Missed beacon:0
enp2s0 no wireless extensions.
>> nmcli dev status
DEVICE TYPE STATE CONNECTION
wlp0s26f7u1 wifi disconnected --
enp2s0 ethernet unavailable --
lo loopback unmanaged --
>> nmcli dev wifi list
* SSID MODE CHAN RATE SIGNAL BARS SECURITY
>> nmcli radio wifi
enabled
Note that I can't even scan the list of wifi network iwlist command.
Eventually, I have to make the connection explicitly.
That also fixed the scanning problem.
>> nmcli conn up dccy
Connection successfully activated (D-Bus active path: /org/freedesktop/NetworkManager/ActiveConnection/0)
>> iwlist wlp0s26f7u1 scan
wlp0s26f7u1 Scan completed :
Cell 01 - Address: D8:5D:4C:F7:15:C8
ESSID:"dccy"
Protocol:IEEE 802.11bg
......
...
Question is I don't have to do that in the past. What when wrong in the recent upgrade ?
