NETGEAR WG111v2 help needed

Hey everyone!
I have NETGEAR WG111v2 USB wireless card.

I'm trying to get the card working with Arch Linux and having a few problems.
So far I used ndiswrapper technology and a driver I downloaded from NETGEAR website. Everything seems to work fine:
after modprobe ndiswrapper dmesg shows:

ndiswrapper version 1.16 loaded (preempt=yes,smp=yes)
ndiswrapper: driver net111v2 (NETGEAR Inc.,3/16/2005,5.1213.06.0316) loaded
wlan0: vendor: 'Realtek RTL8187 Wireless LAN USB NIC
wlan0:ndiswrapper ethernet device 00:0f:b5:be:02:39 using driver net111v2, 0846:6A00.F.conf
wlan0:encryption modes supported: WEP; TKIP with WPA, WPA2, WPA2PSK; AES/CCMP with WPA, WPA2, WPA2PSK
usbcore: registered new driver ndiswrapper

lsmod|grep -i ndiswrapper

ndiswrapper 173676 0
usbcore 116256 5 ndiswrapper, usb_storage, ehci_hcd, ohci_hcd

iwconfig does display wlan0 device. However I seem not to be able to set ESSID. I've tryed manually (iwconfig wlan0 essid ESSID) and by putting it in /etc/conf.d/wireless file - no luck. Furthermore, when trying to scan for the AP (iwlist wlan0 scan) I do not get any scan results.
lshwd reveals

003:004 USB (Defined at Interface level): NETGEAR WG111v2 (ndiswrapper)

So there you go -) Everything looks ok, but the thing isnt working hmm
Thanks in advance
