Hi everyone!
As the title said, I'm using an HP probook 455 G2 with the rtl8723be chipset.
I've installed rtlwifi_new and I saw that using ant_sel=2 I can connect to my network, but I get weak signal and a slow connection.
Switching to ant_sel=1 I see that I get maximum strenght on the signal (I'm one step away from the router), but I'm unable to connect to internet if I use WPA2.
I'm using NetworkManager and nmcli during the connection just drop every ssid and I have to reboot again and nmtui says: "Connection activation failed".
I've tried manually and wpa_supplicant says that the pre-shared key may be wrong (it is not) and refuse to connect.
Currently my rtl8723be.conf file looks like this:
options rtl8723be fwlps=N ips=N swenc=Y msi=1 ant_sel=2

With mine, I could not even see a possible WLAN until I set fwlps=0 and ant_sel=1. Now I can connect and actually do things but, like you say, it is slow. Download speed is around 35 mbps, it should be 55-65.
So, I plan to replace it with an Intel 8260, as soon as I can figure out what form factor to order. Do you know whether these notebooks take m.2 or HMC?
