I have a wired connection but I suppose it failed to fully load it via
I tried pinging and I get the "www.google.com: Name or service is not known" So I refer to the Network config wiki and get stuck Configuring the IP Address. I've looked at dhcpcd and systemd-networkd but neither of those worked out so now I'm on netctl. I copied /etc/netctl/example/ethernet-dhcp to /etc/netctl > changed the interface. I then attempt to start the netctl profile and then I get the error
"Job for netctl@ens33\x2dethernet\x2ddhcp.service failed because the control process exited with error code.
See "systemctl status "netctl@ens33\\x2dethernet\\x2ddhcp.service"" and "journalctl -xe" for details"
I then view the systemctl status first then the journalctl log and see the errors
"The interface of network profile 'ens33-ethernet-dhcp' is already up"
"Failed to start Netoworking for netctl profile ens3-ethernet-dhcp."
I try stopping it then starting it again to no avail. Any suggestions or if you need anymore information, just ask

"Waiting for carrier.... Timed out" suggests your ethernet cable is not plugged in physically.... NO-CARRIER in the output of `ip link` confirms that.

OK, well the kernel does not believe it is connected. I've never used VMware so I'm not sure what to suggest sorry.

I switched my VMware network settings from NAT to bridged and now I can ping google.com. Took me a couple of days and even having to reinstall arch to fix this problem. Thank!
