Thank you a lot. This is exactly what I looked for. Just to reach perfection, do you casually know how I prevent conky from being moves by alt+mouse click and how I prevent the 2 Pixel-Border on the top?

Try this about the border:

border_margin 0
gap_x 0
gap_y 0

Dunno about the mouse move though - I don't know if it's possible, but you might try to look through the conky documentation.

I wouldn't call it mine persay.  It's a hybrid of a couple of configs from the fvwm forums and some tweaks i made with stonecrest's help.

Here it is, I've tried to clean the base config up as much as i could (well as much as my laziness allowed), but its still messy.

Global Havok -
is that panel using IconMan? Too lazy to go through your config.

Anyway, here's my project from the last few days, pretty much from scratch, except the decor:

Why is it that everyone uses openbox instead of, say, fluxbox?

Re: July 2006 Screenshots

Probably because Fluxbox sucked for about a year and their dev team was like, "You think you found a bug?  Shove it up your ass - I can't replicate it."

Fluxbox doesn't have pipe menus and the way it handles alt-tab sucks. It also doesn't feel as crisp as openbox for some reason.

Personally, I like Openbox for it's simplicity. It's XML based configs are a breeze, the fact that it is in .config/ is good, it's fast, and it doesn't have that panel.

Fluxbox is what you get if you take old blackbox code, and then ask 10-yr-olds what features they'd like. They invariably want "transparency" and "rounded corners" and "menu icons" and other such frivolous bullshit. To them I say a hearty "fuck you" and I use openbox because it doesn't have all that pointless shite. Also it has great features of it's own - more flexible keybindings than other *boxes, pipe menus, speed, simplicity, and elegance.

Flux is for children, OB is for adults.

Re: July 2006 Screenshots

That was unexpected. Apparently, Openbox is also for people who demonstrate traits of arrogance and megalomania. I'm sure you are not really that type of person but it does come across that way...which is unfortunate.

mallow005, just use what you enjoy the most, don't belittle the preferences of others, and keep an open mind toward new options, developments and experiences. I think that in the end that is probably the most fruitful and genuine path that could be chosen.

Yeah, sure. But how do I get them being shown there as they're shown there. What kind of system bar application is it?

The wm fvwm is creating them.

Mh... this is a really convincing argument for switching to fvwm. )-:

Well... maybe this will be my WM if I stop using Openbox.
