Troubles with iwlwifi and kernel 4.13

Hi,
I own a Dell XPS13 9343 with an intel 7265D wifi adapter. I usually run lts kernel (4.9.56 currently), but I would like to use the standard kernel now (4.13.7).
I have an issue with wireless networking with this newer kernel : iwlwifi fails to load with this new kernel

 iwlwifi 0000:02:00.0: Direct firmware load for iwlwifi-7265D-26.ucode failed with error -2

Anyone had this issue ?

Thank you very much !
T.

Re: Troubles with iwlwifi and kernel 4.13

That message as it stands doesn't mean anything and is completely normal. It just means the driver is querying for a firmware that is not (yet) present. It should successfully load a firmware a few lines further down. So if you have an actual issue, post the whole dmesg. https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=57855

Re: Troubles with iwlwifi and kernel 4.13

My bad :-(
In fact, I swapped the two kernel logs, and this complain was from the lts kernel which works !
Anyway, here are some logs (I hope that now they are useful) :
* networkmanager logs for 4.13 kernel
* networkmanager logs for lts kernel
* dmesg for 4.13 kernel
* dmesg for lts kernel

Thank you very much !

Note: I already tried to downgrade networkmanager to version 1.6.2, but it didn't change anything

Re: Troubles with iwlwifi and kernel 4.13

Wow, this is very very strange !
The issue was almost between the keyboard and the chair...

In fact, my wifi was hard blocked (thank you rfkill !)...
Booting the laptop with 4.13 kernel was automatically toggling the wireless switch to OFF (maybe acpi related ?), whereas lts kernel (and all previous kernels !) didn't.
So, just by toggling this switch (to ON !), wifi worked again...
