Hi, I have an issue with tracker-extract, it uses too much RAM and makes my GNOME desktop unresponsive. For instance, with only a Firefox tab open (this one) it uses 1.4 GB out of 4GB RAM. I spent sometime looking at the forum and found the following solution (https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=222845). I also found at the GNOME wiki a similar solution (https://wiki.gnome.org/Projects/Tracker/). According to these sources, there should a 'tracker preferences' UI looking like this (https://wiki.gnome.org/Projects/Tracker … rences.png). I searched for it but could locate it. Does anyone know where to find it?
Thanks.

I used GNOME only for a very short time, but from the look of it I guess you should search inside Nautilus preferences.
If not, then have a look at https://wiki.gnome.org/Projects/Tracker … ingStarted
EDIT: too late, I see this topic has been marked as solved, I was still typing when this happened.

Thanks lo1, I just found it. It was right there! I typed 'search' on the Gnome search bar. Tracker-extract now uses less than 30mb of RAM.
