Firefox (and Chromium) returning from fullscreen crashes gnome
Hi,
From quite a while i have this huge problem on my installation. When returning from full screen from say Youtube or Netflix firefox (and also Chromium) tend to crash the gnome display.
It does not happen all the time, but quite often and when it does it gives the following errors in dmesg and journal:

Any advice?

Have you tried running Gnome on xorg? https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/GN … g_sessions My guess is that wayland crashes and drags Gnome down with it after a while.

Hello, i am trying right now. I've done it as explained in the wiki and rebooted.
Unfortunately the problem was still there. Then i noticed from the graphical login panel of gdm the session for my user was still "Gnome" and not "Gnome on Xorg", how is that possible? Maybe i have to follow this for gdm: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/GD … rg_backend
However now i am on "Gnome on Xorg" and for now it has stopped. I will keep you posted.
UPDATE: Ok, in Xorg session it doesen't crash. But simply freezes for 2/3 seconds with my window un-maximized and black on the background, then everything goes back to normal. So there is definetively something wrong both with Xorg or Wayland.

Can you upload your Xorg log and output from dmesg after rebooting and triggering the freeze please, would not be surprised if this is about PulseAudio and the magic of Gnome.

You should have mentioned your previous forum posts, since the issue with bumblebee still is affecting laptops.

But you are not using nvidia driver any more? That log does not tell me much at all... need something like dmesg or
journalctl -fthen start fullscreen everything etc and post what happened.

At the moment with the Xorg session the problem has become quite rare so i was able to extract only that log. I will post dmesg and journal with Xorg as soon as it happens again.
I still use the nvidia driver with bumblebeed, but this happen even when no programs is running with optirun.
