Kernal Crashes When Using Chrome

Lately my computer has been hanging a lot. the screen will freeze and I can't even get into the terminal with ctl + alt + F1. The caps lock light doensn't turn on or off either. I believe the culprit is chrome, because I haven't had a crash in 15+ minutes, and I am using firefox instead. However, I would like to fix the problem if possible.

FWIW, I started experiencing the same about a month ago after an update... I've just moved to Firefox for the moment. I know it doesn't help you solve it, but at least you know it's not just you.

Try disabling HW acceleration in the settings. There's a MASSIVE thread about issues w/ the 390.xx nvidia blob.
