Hi all,
a CUPS update in Jan/Feb rendered my Lexmark E360dn unusable. Now I really need it back working.
Upon pluging the USB in, the CUPS printer status says: Processing - "Waiting for printer to become available."
$dmesg

Any ideas what needs to be done?

After the update what steps did you perform to adjust the system's cups installation to the packaging changes?

Not much, I un- and re-installed the printer via CUPS but ran into the same problem.

So you didn't follow the instructions that pacman gave you during your problematic February cups upgrade...
Cups daemon is now running under "cups" user+group.
Please make sure to enable the new user+group change in
/etc/cups/cups-files.conf or merge changes from
/etc/cups/cups-files.conf.default. After a service restart
make sure /etc/cups and all files within are owned by
cups group - run "chgrp -R cups /etc/cups".

Yes, that did the trick. Thank you very much!
