Since my last upgrade, on wakeup from hibernation, my touchpad doesn't move the cursor around - rebooting fixes it, and switching to and from another tty does not fix it.
journalctl -xe (also this error is spammed to ttys) shows me a repeated error message:
i2c_designware 80860F41:00: controller timed out
i2c_designware 80860F41:00: controller timed out
i2c_designware 80860F41:00: controller timed out
...
What might be the cause of this? What should I do?
FWIW, I'm running i3-gaps under lightdm.
Life is very short, and there's no time for fussing and fighting, my friends.

Device is a touchpad works normally, besides the error.
Only way to escape is rebooting.

I can confirm, this has been happening since at least 4.15.
My touchscreen and battery charging works after resuming though. However, trying to hibernate again without removing the module first usually doesn't work.

I have the exact log on baytrail, asus x205ta, at least from 4.8, when hibernating and resuming with sound modules loaded. After resume, sound stops working. Could you try retrying with an initramfs built without sound modules?
