Apache update changed config files!

Hi everyone,

Did someone else got all the /etc/httpd/conf/extra/* files overwritten by the last Apache update??

I suddenly lost access to all my domains and found out that those files were at their default settings and the creation date was yesterday (when i updated).

sad

Anything that's not listed as 'NoUpgrade' in /etc/pacman.conf can be overwritten by pacman (I think).

Re: Apache update changed config files!

I did not have the time to check everything out in detail, but updating apache did cause some problems here as well.

They say if you reverse play a Windows CD you can hear satanic verses... But wanna know what's even worse? If you forward play it, it's gonna install Windows on your system!

Re: Apache update changed config files!

When starting with

httpd -k start

i get

httpd: Syntax error on line 233 of /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf: Cannot load /usr/lib/apache/mod_access.so into server: /usr/lib/apache/mod_access.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

and indeed there is no mod_access.so, not even in another location. This happend after uprgrading. Does anyone now about or could check if he has that shared object or what his httpd.conf says about it (it's in the DSO-section and should be the access_module loaded?

AFAIK, name of this module has changed. This is what I've found in apache documentation:

mod_access has been renamed to mod_authz_host

This is somewhat correct, but it also takes into account which files have been put into the <code>backup</code> variable in the PKGBUILD, which for Apache are these files:

backup=(etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf home/httpd/html/index.html
        etc/httpd/conf/extra/httpd-{autoindex,dav,default,info,languages}.conf
        etc/httpd/conf/extra/httpd-{manual,mpm,multilang-errordoc}.conf
        etc/httpd/conf/extra/httpd-{ssl,userid,vhosts}.conf)

Those files will not automatically be overwritten when upgrading; instead a .pacnew file will be created.
