linux network under vmware very slow (almost zero transfer)

Hello,

I'm running archlinux under vmware (Esx I think) and its network is very slow: 0-4 kB/s. I'm using the pcnet32-module for networking. I found some articles detailing problems with the network-connection when using of the latest kernels (2.6.17.x):

http://www.vmware.com/community/thread. … eID=459961
http://www.vmware.com/community/thread. … eID=408893
http://www.vmware.com/community/thread. … 2&tstart=0

However, ethtool reports that the actions I try to take are not supported and mii-tool says that the eth0-interface doesn't support mii.

Edit:
Downloading fromt he internet isn't a problem, so I suppose that the problem is with the upload. Although, I'm not so sure that uploading is a problem.

Has anyone experienced this problem also. any ideas how to solve it?

Greetings,

Michel

Re: linux network under vmware very slow (almost zero transfer)

Hello, the problem seems to be more specific about my use of mod_auth_kerb with apache. The authentication seems to take quite some time.

Greetings,

Michel
