Hello Everone,
I just completed my successful installation of Arch Linux 0.7.2 but im not able to connect to any sites.I'm using pppoe to connect to internet,after connecting through rp-pppoe i am able to ping my server but everyother site is giving me an error as "unknown host".what am i doing wrong here??

Make sure you have added your DNS servers in /etc/resolv.conf
It should be in the form of: nameserver xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx

I use my routers ip address, for example;
nameserver 192.168.1.1
Edit: You would want to put your routers address there instead of as listed above.
Edit #2: I thought I read you were using a router so....if you're not...

thts a problem,the only thing i know about my server is its IP,my Static IP n Subnet Mask,i used to keep my broadcast empty to connect to internet,here i am lost.

Try to define your network interface in rc.conf, under NETWORK
There is an example regarding the syntax.
To test if it works run a:
/etc/rc.d/network restartHaven't been here in a while. Still rocking Arch. ![]()
