I have an Archlinux running on an ASUS TUF-Z270 motherboard, Intel KabyLake 7700, an M.2 HD and Corsair Memory. Today I did a reboot and my computer just hangs on the ASUS logo. I can't access the BIOS via F2 or Del as I normally can do. I tried a recovery disc but that didn't do anything. Tried USB image but also doesn't do anything. So basically, the computer is currently bricked. I wonder how I should find out what could be the problem if anyone has had the same experience. My intuition tells me that I have to remove everything and start from just the motherboard, cpu and memory to get to the BIOS. Any help will be appreciated.

If you can't even get into BIOS, then that's before any type of OS is loaded off anything. Definitely a hardware problem. Unplugging everything non-essential like you said is a good first step. Then, you'd be down to the power supply, motherboard, cpu, memory, and unless your motherboard has integrated graphics, a video card. (EDIT: Also the keyboard/mouse, but that's rare to cause a problem like this.) You'll sometimes get personal antidotes saying from their experience it's a specific part. But, unfortunately, it means swapping out those remaining parts until you figure out what works, because it could truly be any of them. :-( If you have 4 memory modules, you can try just running 2, just make sure they're in matching colored slots. Then, you can try the other 2. You can always try a BIOS reset, but I wouldn't expect anything out of that.

Yes mobo gone. The good thing is it's still on warranty and Amazon sent me a refund right away.
