So I am pretty new to Linux and all, so it might not be a great issue I have. But here it seems that my headset's mic is not getting detected by Arch. I tried other headset and it was same. I know that it might be some hardware/driver issues, but is there any way to overcome it? I did tried

Welcome to the boards
Please edit your post and wrap this and future command output in [ code ] tags. https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Co … s_and_code
There's a detected and active microphone, relatively low configured volume, you might want to up that. What are you using to test? Can you post
sudo fuser -v /dev/snd/*
amixer -c0
pacmd list-source-outputsduring active recording?

Ah so your problem is that the internal mic works, but the headset mic doesn't? Which laptop is this exactly? FWIW incidentally, it looks like the 5.0.6 kernel contains a lot of detection fixes for these kinds of issues, so that might be fixed by that.

Oh I see, so I need to update right? I have installed it on Asus X551CA

Sorry but I am bumping this post. I was kinda busy with something, and nope, updating kernel didn't seem to help me
