[SOLVED] WIFI problems with NetworkManager

I have installed NetworkManager, iw, dialog and wpa_supplicant. I have enabled NetworkManager using

sudo systemctl enable NetworkManager

I have also disabled existing services using

sudo systemctl disable dhcpcd@enp4s0.service
sudo systemctl disable dhcpcd@enp6s0.service
sudo systemctl disable netctl-auto@wlp5s0.service

I have rebooted but when I enter this command I

sudo wifi-menu wlp5s0

I can enter the CLI but when I select the network and press enter I get the following output which I do not fully understand

Job for netctl@wlp5s0\x2dVOO\x2d731305.service failed because the control process exited with error code.
See "systemctl status "netctl@wlp5s0\\x2dVOO\\x2d731305.service"" and "journalctl -xe" for details.

I am not sure if this service is supposed to be enabled or disabled for NetworkManager to work so I tried both using

sudo systemctl disable netctl@wlp5s0\\x2dVOO\\x2d731305.service
sudo systemctl enable netctl@wlp5s0\\x2dVOO\\x2d731305.service

but trying to enable this service gives out this error, which I guess means it's not supposed to be enabled

The unit files have no installation config (WantedBy=, RequiredBy=, Also=,
Alias= settings in the [Install] section, and DefaultInstance= for template
units). This means they are not meant to be enabled using systemctl.

Possible reasons for having this kind of units are:
• A unit may be statically enabled by being symlinked from another unit's
  .wants/ or .requires/ directory.
• A unit's purpose may be to act as a helper for some other unit which has
  a requirement dependency on it.
• A unit may be started when needed via activation (socket, path, timer,
D-Bus, udev, scripted systemctl call, ...).
• In case of template units, the unit is meant to be enabled with some
  instance name specified.

Here is the out put of

LOAD = Reflects whether the unit definition was properly loaded.
ACTIVE = The high-level unit activation state, i.e. generalization of SUB.
SUB = The low-level unit activation state, values depend on unit type.

39 loaded units listed. Pass --all to see loaded but inactive units, too.
To show all installed unit files use 'systemctl list-unit-files'.

As you can see netctl@wlp5s0\x2dVOO\x2d731305.service failed but I do not know what to do.

Re: [SOLVED] WIFI problems with NetworkManager

Netctl which provides wifi-menu is not NetworkManager the two conflict.
Please pick one and disable the other.

Re: [SOLVED] WIFI problems with NetworkManager

wifi-menu is for netctl and yes it and any services it handles should not be used while having networkmanager enabled. Use a networkmanager front end instead.

Re: [SOLVED] WIFI problems with NetworkManager

If you want a terminal user interface, NetworkManager has nmtui.

Thank you very much! I have disabled netctl and I am now able to connect to my wifi. For some reasons I thought that the command "wifi-menu" was for NetworkManager, excuse the stupid question.
