[Solved]Can't open programs when using openbox

I just reinstalled my workstation. After installing the nvidia-390xx driver and X, I installed openbox and obmenu-generator and edited my menu.xml and .xinitrc.
After entering openbox with startx I tried to open the terminal but nothing happend. I also tried to open some other programs like PCManFM, Firefox, etc. but no window will show up.
Even when I chose "Exit" nothing happens, the dialog that asks me if I want to log out just won't appear.

To test if it is a general problem, I also installed and executed i3. Here everything seems normal, I can open the terminal, Firefox, ...

I checked journalctl and the X.org log but I can't find any hints why the programs won't start when using openbox.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Post your .xinitrc in [ code ] tags, as well as

loginctl session-status

after starting openbox, and in general, while you might not be able to see any hints from the logs, other people might be able to: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=57855

Mod note: Moving to NC

Now I feel stupid!
My beamer was connected to the VGA Port of my graphic card. Because of that, windows where showing up on this - in that moment - invisible screen.
