ClamAV cpu usage

Hello everyone in the forums

i have a problem with the ClamAV antivirus software

first of all

on XFCE4 via startxfce4 the service runs ok and the cpu usage is ok depending on the actions

on KDE via startx /usr/bin/startkde the service have a problem : it runs on 50% cpu usage almost all the time and via restart the process respond ok but with the
possibility of doing it again

now the solution :
by running the deamon from the console as just like the service and keeping the clamav-freshclam.service on its runs flawlessly

so the conclusion :
via systemd with kde the service has a serious problem
via the console or via a script file manually ofc the antivirus respond to eicar.com.text aswell

ofc the notification detection shell script doesnt work @ all but the log file catch the virus itself

any ideas where the problem is?

notice: @ every scenario the sudo command being invoce

thanks any1 @ the forums

Re: ClamAV cpu usage

You are using startx incorrectly. running startx $binary$ will not produce a valid session, see the following and note the information in the blue box, set up your .xinitrc properly and use an argumentless startx.

I can't really parse your notice, but if you mean to say that you've ran startx with sudo, you also shouldn't be doing that.

Re: ClamAV cpu usage

ok i change to lightdm so now i use the systemctl start lightdm.service in order to login

the problem still persist even with the lightdm.service unit

the clamd service as systemd ruins my pc
but with console command the same as the clamav-daemon.service exec command its run flawlessly

thanks again

That's not an error message, it is effectively meaningless: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=57855

Re: ClamAV cpu usage

about the clamdav and systemd cpu usage is there any way to trace why
with systemd service the cpu remains @ 50% usage?
