Hi All.
After I switched to mkinitcpio on my Arch box (currently kernel 2.6.17.11-1), my ethernet devices (I have 2 network cards) has begun to be initialized in a random manner, along with my 1394-connection. That means that my "main" network card is sometimes found as eth0, sometimes eth1, and the other as either eth1 or eth2, where the 1394-connection is either initialized as eth0, eth1 or eth2. How can i get around this? Is there a way to force an ethernet device to a certain interface?

Also, if you don't need to run a network over 1394, you can simply blacklist the "eth1394" module in your rc.conf.
