i have installed everything according to arch wiki, after searching for this problem i saw people had solved it by installing  xf86-video-intel, so i also did this but no solution.

Re: failed to start lightdm (Result: exit-code)

1. Please edit your post and use code tags: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Co … s_and_code

2. There is no Arch with Mate. You install Arch. The you install and test X is working, before you start piling on other applications that require X to run.

Re: failed to start lightdm (Result: exit-code)

Please use code tags for commands and their outputs.

(==) Using config file: "/etc/X11/xorg.conf"
(==) Using system config directory "/usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d"
(EE)
Fatal server error:
(EE) no screens found(EE)
(EE)

The config file is causing X to fail.  Why is the system using an xorg.conf?  How was it generated and what is its contents?
What GPUs are present in the system?

lspci | grep -e VGA -e 3D

Re: failed to start lightdm (Result: exit-code)

As the system has a hybrid GPU configuration using an Nvidia GPU see NVIDIA_Optimus.
Also note quote tags and code tags are different.

That is not an error message: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=57855

Paste the xorg log for the basic twm/xorg session as described in the wiki.
