wpa_supplicant dies but connection is active

I have wpa_supplicant daemon configured to run at boot time. A number of times, I see the daemon is dead but the connection is working fine. I am not sure why the daemon dies. I believe the daemon should remain up so that there is no interruption of connectivity. Please advise.

Jun 15 00:58:51 clown.man.machine systemd[1]: wpa_supplicant.service: Succeeded.
Jun 15 00:58:51 clown.man.machine systemd[1]: Stopped WPA supplicant.

After successfully initiating the connection, SystemD seems to stop it.
