[SOLVED] USB mic does not work in CS:GO

Hi guys,
I browsed the forum and I already tried all the suggestions I found... no chance.

My USB mic :
- it works perfectly with sound recorder or audacity applications.
- it is detected by Pulseaudio.
- it is set as fallback.

but still does not work in CS:GO.

I already changed the USB connection port without success.

Do you have some ideas?

Re: [SOLVED] USB mic does not work in CS:GO

sudo fuser -v /dev/snd/*
pacmd list-sources
pacmd list-source-outputs

during this? Post these in [ code ] [ /code ] tags without the spaces.

Re: [SOLVED] USB mic does not work in CS:GO

You need to post these while trying to use the mic in CS:GO. By what measure does "doesn't work" show itself? If the above is indeed while attempting to use it you should check the terminal output of the game as right now it is not attempting to record anything at all.

Re: [SOLVED] USB mic does not work in CS:GO

Sorry, I misunderstanding your suggestion. I just launched a CS:GO game without *using* the mic.
Here is the output while iusing the mic:

It's currently recording from your desktop audio, so people on your team probably enjoy some tunes or annoying game echo, depending on what you are doing here tongue

pacmd move-source-output 27 alsa_card.usb-BLUE_MICROPHONE_Blue_Snowball_797_2019_10_25_35671-00 #Pay attention to the 27 here and double check it's still that number

alternatively or maybe for the future you'll probably want to install pavucontrol which will intuitively show you wrong setups like this and allow you to move streams/outputs as you want.

Re: [SOLVED] USB mic does not work in CS:GO

Solved with pavucontrol.
Is the setting permanent or should I reassign the source every time I restart CS:GO or my PC?

Many thanks!

Re: [SOLVED] USB mic does not work in CS:GO

It should/will remember that for the future.
