Recently I bought a new laptop, an asus zephyrus g14, and the biggest problem with this laptop in linux, at least for me, is the battery time. In windows the power usage when browsing and watching youtube is between 7w and 10w. In linux the same kind of tasks have a power usage between 12w and 20w. I have used powertop to find out where this power is being used and it reports this:
The battery reports a discharge rate of 11.1 W
The energy consumed was 233 J
System baseline power is estimated at 12.0 W

In this laptop the biggest problem related to power consumption usually is the nvidia graphics card, but when I run nvidia-smi the output is:
Sun Aug 9 22:03:58 2020

+-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+That makes me think that the nvidia graphics card is consuming 2w and the problem is not there, but I do not know how to find where the problem is.
Is there any other command that I can use to find the power usage? Am I misunderstanding the output? Any other suggestion to improve the battery life?
Thanks!
