Question about iptables rule in wireguard wiki article

Can someone with iptables knowledge explain what the recent edit to the wiki page allows for?  I have been using the PreUp and PostUp iptable stanzas from the older version of the article for a long time without issue.  Not sure what functionality the new edit would give me and what if any extra risk it would expose to my system.

Re: Question about iptables rule in wireguard wiki article

Well, it adds a forwarding rule, that allows any traffic to be forwarded over the WG tunnel.

macro_rules! yolo { { $($tokens:tt)* } => { unsafe { $($tokens)* } }; }
