[SOLVED]Problem with a partition

I have a problem, I recently installed arch linux and trying to install a window manager I ran into a problem, because when trying to install it, it gave me the following warning:

error: The / partition is too full: 80944 blocks required, 35762 free blocks
error: not enough free disk space
error: operation could not be performed (not enough disk space)
Errors occurred so packages were not updated

I don't know if this problem is because it appears to me that I have the partition mounted, but the problem I do not think is the space since I have more than space to spare (almost 120GB), I will pass what I get when putting

fdisk - l

inside my file partition:

/dev/sda5 692981760 974674601 281692842 134.3G Linux filesystem

Can somebody help me?

What is the output of `df -h`?

The output of df -h is:

Re: [SOLVED]Problem with a partition

So your root partition is only 13G, and almost full. You need to free some space there. You don't have a separate mount for /var so there's probably cache files there you can remove.

Re: [SOLVED]Problem with a partition

Note that a partition is a separate entity to a filesystem. The partition may be 134GB, but if the filesystem is only 13GB, 121GB of the partition will be unusable. You will need to expand the filesystem to make use of the available space.

Re: [SOLVED]Problem with a partition

You have another thread about resizing your root partition, and you have marked it solved. How exactly did you resize the partition?

I changed it by deleting an unused partition that I had in the middle.

That would not resize the partition or the filesystem on it. What exact tools and commands did you use?

I used the cfdisk command to enlarge the partition (I did not change the filesystem and the problem I had was only storage, before I had a partition in the middle that prevented me from extending the partition and I think it was ext4).

Re: [SOLVED]Problem with a partition

If you haven't resized the filesystem, you can use resize2fs and e2fsck. You need to boot from a livecd or other external media, since the partition must be unmounted here.

Thanks, using resize2fs helped me and I was able to increase my partition size.

That statement doesn't make any sense.

Again, a partition is a separate entity to a filesystem. The resize2fs command resizes ext# filesystems, not partitions.
