Since the update to xorg-server to 1.20.9 my system doesn't start up the graphical environment anymore when using the lts kernel 5.4.74. The regular kernel 5.9.3 works. Downgrading the xorg-server packages to 1.20.8 solves the issue. The is with the nvidia driver.
Any ideas besides using IgnorePkg? Unfortunately using the regular kernel stopped being an option today as 5.9.4 broke the vmware workstation support. Oh well.

There's no inherent incompatibility between these packages.
What's the exact behaviour of "doesn't start up" anymore? If xorg technically starts, but crashes it should write a log, if it doesn't there should be some information in the system journal. Either way, for this to go anywhere we need output and logs

The issue seems to be a Segmentation fault of the X-Server, full log at http://ix.io/2Ddc

Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.
clean chroot building not flexible enough ?
Try clean chroot manager by graysky

Updating to 1.20.9.r21.g5c400cae1-2 has fixed the issue.
