An up to date 0.5 is exactly 0.6.
Install arch 0.5 and run pacman -Su and presto, 0.6.
Actually, it's not quite that easy because there are some "ugly" upgrades, but the intent is the same.

Try doing the network install if you have access to a fast pipe at install time. If you can get the network interface running, the rest is fairly easy. I did my last 3 installs this way and it was a lot less trouble than installing 0.5 and then doing the "ugly" upgrades.
