PulseAudio

On my brand spanking new Arch i3wm, I've installed pulseaudio and pavucontrol, and finally Spotify to test it out.

When I hit play on Spotify, pavucontrol says that there is in fact a decibel signal coming from Spotify. In the configuration tab, the Built-In Audio profile is set to Analog Stereo Output, as it should be. However... I hear nothing through my headphones.

I really don't have any more information because I haven't done anything else. Have I missed something? Some other package or driver?

Edit: If it's important, I've tested the auxiliary port and my headphones. They work fine

Edit 2: Solved. Pavucontrol for some reason came automatically muted out of the box. Not only that, but the "mute" button showed absolutely no indication of being active. Questionable design choice, in my opinion... But thankfully some random messing around led me to the answer.
