I had this issue with lts kernel which I tried about a week before. When booting to lts kernel I had no internet and "ip link" outputs only lo device. I didn't have such problem with normal kernel though, so I uninstalled the lts kernel. I had no problems since then, but when I updated the system today and rebooted I started to have the same issue.
If I run:
modprobe r8169
Then I'm automatic connected until next reboot. I tried to edit /etc/mkintcpio.conf, add the "r8169" in MODULES section and then run:
mkinitcpio -p linux
but it doesn't make any difference after rebooting and I still need to load the module.
How can I fix this?

Thanks. I installed it before some months because I had some disconnection problems and I tried r8168. I thought I had remove it though and I also removed r8169 which I added to blacklist then. But you have right it was installed. I removed it now and the problem solved.
