Network with emoji SSID puts systemd-resolved in uninterruptible sleep

I'm connecting to a network with a banana emoji (?) for its SSID and it leaves my computer mostly bricked, I think because it causes systemd-resolved to enter a "D" state (uninterruptible sleep). Is there a short term fix for this if I can't change the network name, and should I just go with my assumption of the offensing package and report there or do more digging?

Re: Network with emoji SSID puts systemd-resolved in uninterruptible sleep

Don't use resolved? It's no way mandatory.

Though I'm not sure how an SSID could knock out a resolver.
I mean, resolved is really inept and might do a lot of nonsense on top of that, but I can't even imagine why it could be interested in the SSID.

IOW: sure that's the cause?
And if: please post the output of

localectl
