I've just updated to 5.16.0 and loading the cryptoloop module fails:
# modprobe cryptoloop
modprobe: FATAL: Module cryptoloop not found in directory /lib/modules/5.15.13-arch1-1
I have
/lib/modules/5.15.14-1-lts/kernel/drivers/block/cryptoloop.ko.zst
and it is present on 5.15.13 if I downgrade. However, it is missing from
/lib/modules/5.16.0-arch1-1/kernel/drivers/block
Downgrading to 5.15.13 allows me to use cryptoloop again. Is this a known issue or did I screw up something?

Maybe you did not reboot after the kernel upgrade?

cryptoloop has been deprecated 17 years ago and support has been removed 8 years ago. The module itself was lying in the tree for a dozen years, but now finally someone did the cleanup.

@mpan Had no idea! I guess it's time for me to update my scripts then.
