Can Arch be installed remotely?
I mean is there a support for network and ssh server on the Arch installation CD? I tried to test this with Qemu but it crashed at HW detection.
I'm asking it as I have Thinkpad T22 on other country and I want to install linux on it before fetching it to save time.

Isn't that for changing some existing server to Arch? I don't have any OS on my laptop AFAIK so I wanted to know if the Arch CD had SSH enabled so I could instruct someone to boot the laptop and change root password and then take the remote connection to make the installation.
My help isn't technical so booting from cd is quite a task for them, that's why I'm so interrested on installing linux remotely.

Yes, that's what I understood. I was just wondering how much time you imagined saving if a basic Arch installation takes maybe 20 mins. How much time does a remote install, including preparation and communication with a partner take?
But if you insist ... it should be possible using any live CD with ssh.

Main question still unanswered: Does arch CD have ssh?
It's atleast 20min of my precious vacation time in Finland spending installing linux + the time required on configuring it, that's what I'm trying to save

Hi,
sorry to bring that old thread up again.
The link youßve provided seems outdated. We have 0.8 today.
Has anyone managed to get an updated Archlinux working on a root server / virtual server?
