re export nfs4 mount via smb / samba?

Hello,

most information I have found concerning this topic is over a decade old and specifically does not talk about NFS4. As the topic suggests, we have a machine that mounts / imports a NFS share and we need to make this available to a windos client, as windows does not support NFS4 and we must not allow NFSv3 or older.

Also, we  are not allowed to install samba on the nfs server directly, so we need a seperate machine, that imports the nfs share and then makes it available to windows. That will be arch, the nfs server is SLES, however. But that should not matter. Not elegant, I am aware, but that is where we are.
Now, the old topics I have found regarding this issue are all primarily talking about locking problems, but, as stated, these are all related to older versions of NFS -  and of course really old kernel versions as well.

By chance, is any one here reading this running a similar configuration and/or has some knowledge to share?

Thanks

Ede
