After booting my system today I was no longer able to access an usb drive. When I try to access it in dolphin I get the error
An error occurred while accessing 'Volume', the system responded: The requested operation has failed: Error mounting /dev/sdc1 at /run/media/"my user"/Volume: Unknown error when mounting /dev/sdc1and when I try to mount it using
mountI get the output
$MFTMirr does not match $MFT (record 3).

NTFS is either inconsistent, or there is a hardware fault, or it's a
SoftRAID/FakeRAID hardware. In the first case run chkdsk /f on Windows
then reboot into Windows twice. The usage of the /f parameter is very
important! If the device is a SoftRAID/FakeRAID then first activate
it and mount a different device under the /dev/mapper/ directory, (e.g.
/dev/mapper/nvidia_eahaabcc1). Please see the 'dmraid' documentation
for more details.Rebooting, system updates and removing and reconnecting the usb drive did not fix the issue.
I might add here that I have been using this drive on this system on an almost daily basis for multiple months now, so it's not a compatibility issue or anything.
I'd appreciate any help, thank you in advance.

The output you posted gives you the options of what might be wrong and tells you what to do. What's the question?

Did you run chkdsk on MS Windows as suggested?
I assume this is an NTFS file format.
Not sure if this will help, but here is our WiKi page:https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/NTFS
