xdg-desktop-portal timeout with firefox and possibly other programs

Referencing https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=2099718 which doesn't solve the issue.

Apparently it has something to do with some gnome update to v44.
Firefox takes about 30s to launch.

I'm using cinnamon 5.6.8
gnome is not installed and neither is xdg-desktop-portal-gnome

I'm creating this thread because the referencing thread is marked as solved even if it isn't.
Just having a quick look at the thread list in this sub-forum I see https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=285713
which has the same or a related issue.

There was also https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=285692 which is somehow in line w/ the 25s dbus timeout.

Please post your complete system journal for the boot:

sudo journalctl -b | curl -F 'file=@-' 0x0.st

I had this problem (firefox, alacritty, nemo all booted slow) and for now I uninstalled snap and xdg-desktop-portal, xdg-desktop-portal-gtk which "solved" it

I did the same as chesselitist above and it also solved my problem.
