"logind"… Please don't paraphrase, https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=57855

How do you attempt to start gnome in the first place?

Re: [SOLVED]Can't start gnome-session

Did you read the link I posted?
("no, of course not"…)

Please post your complete system journal for the boot:

sudo journalctl -b | curl -F 'file=@-' 0x0.st

Re: [SOLVED]Can't start gnome-session

Just to be crystal clear, you did the "sudo systemctl enable --now gdm" yes?

EDIT: there are more replies that clarify this now that I've replied. Disregard.

There's no sign of any attempt to log into a gnome session in that journal?

Re: [SOLVED]Can't start gnome-session

How does this thread relate to https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=287751 ?
Specifically

arch gnome-shell js error requiring clutter version 12 typelib file for namespace json version 1 not found @resource org gnome shell ui environment

pacman -Qikk gnome-shell clutter

Though the normal way how gnome fucks itself is through some 3rd party extension becoming incompatible with an update.
