systemd-resolved - issues with captive portal and gpg

Hey friends,

I was using NetworkManager with systemd-resolved for DNS. I've noticed two issues and am wondering if anyone else has, and/or if there are any workarounds:

1. I can't seem to get captive wifi (hotel, Starbucks, etc) to connect. DNS just fails. When I disable systemd-resolved and use NetworkManager's default DNS settings, it works. Not sure what's going on there.
2. Any time I need to fetch keys using gpg, it also fails. I haven't had to do this in a while so don't remember the specifics but it's something I also fixed by swapping DNS from systemd-resolved to whatever's built-in to NetworkManager.

Thanks!

Re: systemd-resolved - issues with captive portal and gpg

Hi,

My experience is that some captive portals works and some don't. Didn't try to disable systemd-resolved though.

From the 2 issues you describes it might propose you have different configuraiton between NetworkManager (nmcli device show) and resolved (output of: resolvectl).
