Left channel always at max volume with Audient id14 audio interface

Hello,
i've recently installed arch linux on my desktop computer. Everything works great and audio, after installing pulseaudio (and also the utils that came with the kde-plasma DE), seemed to work out of the box.
Though: the left channel is ALWAYS sending the audio at max volume. always, no matter what the volume controls are saying - i've texted with alsamixer and the integrated audio settings of kde plasma, even tho i'm able to mute the channel (with alsamixer i cannot). I'm able to control the right channel but to hear both of the channel at the same volume i need to put everything (or just the right one) at 100%. This also appears on the audio interface itself that has LEDs for the signal it's emitting: the left channel is always on maximum, for context: i have an Audient ID14 mark 1 audio interface.
What can i do? I kinda don't know where to begin troubleshooting this issue -- Thanks!

Re: Left channel always at max volume with Audient id14 audio interface

Hi, 2024/12 and the problem still exists. I've got the Audient iD14 mk2, and I'm currently using Artix with kernel 6.12.1. My sound system is Pipewire.
When I use alsamixer, the left speaker level cannot be changed, only the right one is affected.

Anybody got more info to why this bug and how to fix it in alsamixer?

My temporary workaround:
What works: using pwvucontrol, going to the "Cards" tab, selecting "Pro Audio" for the Audient iD14.
Then in the "Output Devices" tab, for the "Audient iD14 Pro", I unroll by clicking on the downward small triangle on the right, and I can control the channels AUX0 and AUX1 separately.
And this effectively changes the volume on the speakers L and R without issues.

To have this work, you will have to wire your sound source to AUX0 and AUX1 from e.g. qpwgraph.

Needless to say, I would be very glad to be able to just use alsamixer.
